I’ve heard you wanna wrap the dryer because if it gets hot and burns the paint off then, in the future it’s more prone to fail due to rust damage.

I use the viper wet rag shit but never on dryers. I’ve just never thought to do it tbh I don’t think I’ve ever seen it done in the field.

in my experience i had drier particles come loose and block exp valves causing high temps.. The drier i removed was scalded on both sides from installation.. Cant 100% put it down to not being wrapped but my rule is wrap everything.. less chance of failure and a solid vacuum is vital👌
