people need to UNDERSTAND that waiting 72 hours for a ward does not mean ure not being cared for... staying in observation ward while waiting for ward is the SAME care plan as going up to the ward is just that youre AT the observation at ANE.... youre still being cared for. 72 hours is no choice ..... hospital themselves also cannot control who gets discharged, it depends on patient's health condition. and somemore ageing population in singapore so damn high rlly no choice. respectfully ❤️

To be honest if you cannot wait or u r those anxious type, bring them to private hospital next time. You can always book private ambulance, to send you to the hospital you choose. Like my mum she knows waiting time is long so she went private to get herself check. Public hospital is usually around this long when there is bed crunch. Even healthcare workers themselves need to wait more than 10 hours sometimes in hospitals even though they are very sick themselves.

its pretty difficult to manage when beds in the wards are full. hospitals don't go by "1st come 1st serve" basis. it's prioritised based on medical urgency, or depends on the different ward specialty too. eg serious cases may not be able to send to the short-stay ward due to difference in equipments etc. apart from ED transfers there's also inter ward transfers happening, depending on patient conditions. in your other vid, u were right to suggest AOR (At own risk) aka AMA (against medical advice) discharge. but it's up to the patient will need to bring up. as healthcare staff, we also cannot share too much about our workload to PDPA, other patient privacy issues. that doesn't take away the frustration of course but hope it brings some perspective to the whole situation. 🫶

Singapore aged population 20% which is an estimate of 800000 alone . Plus additional sick young patient and while in each ward there’s only like hundred bed availability. Nurses 2 ratio handling 18 patient. Medication and if all bed bound the care is so difficult. All you complain can be solved if more manpower and government can expand the hospital. SGH expanding hospital but there’s not enough nurse take new ward. They taking staff from each ward and combining which means nurses to patient ratio is gonna be even bad.

Hi bro, pass few months I having a stroke went in CGH AnE,also waited about two days to get a bed to the ward. Alot of patients in all hospitals,must understand not enough beds .. The nurses n doctor can't do anything too...They also stress..

seems most focus on siding healthcare workers. this may not be his issue. people are concerned when despite long waiting, there's no response or answers to their concern or comforting assurance for those patients in pain or dire condition.

medicine initially requires investigation and observation, which may appear to be counterintuitive. we are complicated machines which sometimes have delayed responses to external stimuli like medication etc

Hey, I understand your concern about long wait.. usually the more serious patients will be seen first.. and the rest will be seen later.. if your dad is in the waiting room means he is still stable but not fit to be discharge. all the A&E are like that.. it does not do with cgh.. P.s it's a government hospital so ofc got long wait... it sucks to wait

i will also kancheong of course.. everytime bring old folks for checkup will blood boil cos wait for 4 hrs. i have my fair share of a&e at kkh, really chaotic inside. wait and wait to see doc. worry for my kids. then i realised my husband bought insurance so we can go pte. at least for my kids

Of course will kan chiong.. who will not be kan chiong seeing their love ones and feeling helpless. Nobody got no reason will go hospital. I am sure the nurses and doctors also wish that there was more they could do but they are working with what they have and are doing their best. Even my girl was hospitalised recently I saw kk so many cars until everyone is parking anyhow, it made me so anxious.I couldn’t wait and immediately bring her to Thomson. Your feelings thoughts and opinions are valid. It’s a very stressful situation.
