yeah i got a baby boo dress that was like $200 with shipping and all that for a wedding.... and I've gotten $20 dresses that lasted longer (that dress was only usable for that one event)

Tell me why I ordered TOWELS from Amazon. I ordered one set to go in my daughter’s bathroom (also the guest bathroom) and another of a different brand for my bathroom. I’ve only ever bought them at Walmart tbh and knew sometimes they’d been more micro-fibery or cotton. But tell me why the ones I ordered from Amazon were polyester 😭 they’re awful. My husband hung them up when we got them and I didn’t think anything of it till I went to use them that night. We had unboxed a million of boxes that day because we ordered a huge haul so the packaging was long gone in the trash by the time I realized how awful they were. Some polyester shirts I don’t hate, if they’re cheap af and some don’t look awful for the price. But towels?! Nope. Used em and hated them. They’ll be hung up to match the decor but I will be using our old towels to actually dry off with. I haven’t bought new towels in embarrassingly like 4 years, I didn’t know I had to worry about polyester towels 😅😅

Why is "looking cheap" the same as "looking ugly"? It is totally possible for something to be cheap but also estethically pleasing (as that is subjective). There are many other reasons not to shop at Shein (clothes don't last, the environment, working conditions), but saying "looking beautiful=looking rich" or enforcing very narrow fashion norms doesn't sound like a good argument to me

Trickle down effect of this… I used to go to the thrift store and be able to get high-quality clothes that had already stood the test of time… Now the thrift stores are getting swamped with garbage.

It’s rough because even when you go to “nice” stores like Nordstrom, and you see a sweater or a dress and it is priced at 90 bucks or 180 bucks or more and then it is pretty much all polyester….
