These player are not just doing it bc he's Messi.. The respect he give them see how he treat them.. Moment where he could have scored he passed, penalty he could have taken he gives away to boost the confidence of those who are feeling down, deciding to bench himself so youngsters can play.. When he perform well and the team wins he never say "me or i" he say "we or the team" unselfish, humble and respect the other players and fans, his name and what he done isn't why they do this or why we fans love him its his character

In the 2016 Euros, there were 11 new players in the Portuguese team who did not participate in the previous Euros, and the winner in the final wasn't even scored by Ronaldo.
