this isnt weird loyalty. this is what happens when you get promoted and make more money (in some cases alot more money) every couple years.
more ppl would be "loyal" if this happened

But if you start at an actual store they don’t want to give you an internship because it’s “to big of a raise all at once”…

my boss has been with our company 53 years. Site opened 6 months before he started. He started as an apprentice and now is an unrelated team as a 'team leader' with 6 reports

I mean if you told me I would be a director after 5 years and then promote bi-annually roughly 6 times after that? Two longer runs mixed in there, and good positions at that, and now you run a 60 billion dollar business. I’d stay.

Loyalty doesn’t exist anymore cuz they would just lay ppl off instead of promoting them now

Mine looks like this too. 20yrs at the same company from entry level to dept head. It’s a little embarrassing but it’s not on purpose- I did try to leave a few times but got promoted 😭

this is not surprising as there have been low job applicant pools in this sector for years. It has been easier to promote than find qualified candidates if talent is available internally. the last promotion must be merited.
