The ERAM fight and this dialogue definitely hints at multiple FRIENDS. The protein thing is interesting, and talking about someone hiding. Maybe FRIEND is connected to the forgotten man? and the Eggs is the protein spoken of?

I think the line about changing their appearance might not refer to Dess but maybe the soul changing to the vessel later in the game. The protein could be Kris? That’s less likely than Dess tho
