The pathology is characterized by fibrous thickening, commissural fusion, and subsequent calcification of the semilunar valve cusps, leading to a critical narrowing of the effective orifice area. The dynamic 3D model visualizes the deformed aortic valve during the systolic and diastolic phases. Due to severe sclerosis and calcification, the cusps lose their elasticity and fail to open fully, presenting a mechanical obstruction to the main blood flow. This causes a significant increase in the pressure gradient between the left ventricle and the aorta.
