when I used to be a bookseller, and they were asking for a recommendation, to gage what they liked I would never ask what they usually go for (because like me i forget everything I have ever read) - I would ask "what was the last book that had an affect on you?" because it opens up a conversation of it was bad, good, thoughtful etc. ✨✨✨
