@feelgoodwithlavina: 🚶‍♀️ More evidence that every movement counts. A new study published in the British Journal of Sports Medicine found that taking 5-minute movement breaks every hour was one of the most effective and practical ways to improve wellbeing during the working day. Participants reported improved: ✨ Mood ⚡ Energy and alertness 🧠 Productivity 💛 Reduced fatigue It reinforces something I've been passionate about for years. Since 2018, I've been encouraging people to build movement into their day through what I call Exercise Snacking – short bursts of movement that fit into real life. This study used 5-minute walking breaks, whereas my approach has always encouraged 1–3 minutes of movement every hour. The principle is exactly the same: don’t wait until the gym - sprinkle movement throughout your day. In my 📕 The Feel Good Fix, I show that hitting as little as 11 minutes of movement a day can have meaningful health benefits. The reality is that many adults spend around three-quarters of their waking day sitting‼️While structured exercise is still incredibly important, it's what we do between our workouts that matters too. So here's your reminder to have a movement snack today: ✔️ Walk while you're on the phone. ✔️ Climb the stairs. ✔️ Do a few squats while the kettle boils. ✔️ Stretch after every meeting. ✔️ Balance on one leg while brushing your teeth. Small movements. Big difference. I'd love to know - how many hours do you sit everyday? Do you now snack on exercise and which is your favourite? 💚 Save and SHARE this post for later and send it to someone who needs a reminder to get up and moving! This is exactly what I show and help implement in my Workplace Wellness sessions - call me into your company for more productivity, less stress and happier healthier employees! 🏢
