I’m the 2nd child. After the 1st, they had to try again to get better. They liked me so much they thought maybe a 3rd would be even better. After the 3rd, they saw their idea failed and tried again with number 4…. After it failed they realize it wasn’t getting any better than the 2nd

Yeah they all liked to call me spoiled. Then why did I always get the end pieces of the watermelon, the smallest burger, the most uncomfortable seat in the family car, the chores that my brothers didn’t have to do, only hand me downs and never a new dress, only one pair of shoes for the school year, the most uncomfortable bed? I spoil myself now because I sure wasn’t then.

My two older sisters thought I was spoiled because I very seldom had any punishments; it's actually because I watched what they got in trouble for, and didn't do those things. They were both rebellious while I respected that as long as I lived in my parents home, their rules applied. Moved out when I was 20, but before that, my parents learned that I was trustworthy, and they relaxed on the rules.

I was the baby in the family of 3 children and I can definitely tell you that I wasn’t the favorite. When I was 10 years old my mom was mad at me for something I did and she blurted out that I was a mistake. She favored my brother who was the Second oldest. She told my now wife before we were married that I would never amount to anything. She was extremely jealous of my sister because she was my dad’s favorite. I always felt like her family would be better if I wasn’t there.

Sorry, as the oldest of 4, that may sound good, but the real reason is that the first child turned out so wonderful. They THOUGHT it may happen again.
