Yes, accept people as they are. Don't try to change them.
We're all just human, full of flaws and imperfections.
But when someone's irrational behaviour and unhealthy patterns begin to affect your peace, step back for good.
We're grown-ups. We know exactly what we're doing. "Accept me as I am" is not a free pass to justify irrational or unacceptable behaviour.
Accept people as they are. Don't try to change them. But, learn where to place them in your life, where to place yourself in theirs and when to leave for good.
Acceptance is healthy. But tolerating behaviour to the point where you no longer recognize yourself is not. Not at all.
A lesson learned along the way.
