I hate when people only say she left her family for a man but this was her journey of self-discovery, and the sacrifices that we sometimes have to make in order to live a meaningful life. she wasn’t happy with her life underwater- so she was brave enough to search for a life she could be happy with. it’s about how personal growth requires taking risks and it’s okay to want more for yourself.

The fact thay she had a literal cave FULL of human objects that SHE patiently collected, that the movie starts with her literally exploring a relic just to find more “human” things, gets completely ignored all the time! And I think this is a total blatant disrespect and misogynistic. She was ALREADY in love in the “human” world and this bc she met eric, he is a plus to a world she wanted to live and experience in the frist place to begin with! Bc she is extremely curious and explorative
