💔 This poor boy is trembling with fear and urgently needs our help. Around 1 year old, this sweet German Shepherd was found as a stray in Caddo Mills and brought to the shelter after my friend’s neighbors could no longer hold onto him while they searched for help. No one came to reclaim him. He’s terrified in the shelter, trembling as he tries to make sense of everything around him. Despite that, he’s very sweet and friendly with people outside if the shelter. He takes a little time to warm up (he’s scared right now), is extremely underweight, and desperately needs a family willing to give him the love and stability he deserves. The only thing we know is that he is not good with cats. His behavior around other dogs is unknown, so he should be given time to decompress and any introductions should be done slowly, on leash, and on neutral ground—not immediately after leaving the shelter or inside the home. German Shepherds are intelligent, loyal dogs that thrive as part of a family. They do not belong spending their lives outside 24/7 as yard ornaments. They need companionship, training, enrichment, exercise, regular veterinary care, and a home where they’re treated as cherished family members. Tomorrow, 7/21, his stray hold ends. With the shelter constantly beyond capacity, dogs are getting very little time to find adopters or fosters & rescues before their lives are at risk without any warning. We never know who’s next. Please help make sure this sweet boy’s future is one filled with love instead of ending before he ever gets the chance. ⸻ Kennel 14 | #D26864 • ~1 year old, Male, German Shepherd Dog, Heartworm status unknown • Stray 7/17, available 7/21 📍Greenville Animal Control Shelter 5800 Joe Ramsey Blvd, Greenville, TX 🕘 Open daily 9 AM–5 PM ☎️ 903 457 2990 📧 Email: animalcontrol@ci.greenville.tx.us 💲Adoption: 95 (75 + 20 neuter deposit) Includes basic shots, mandatory neuter, microchip, & rabies. Will need to see a vet for a heartworm test, exam, fecal test, monthly prevention, and routine care. Adopt in person or foster through a rescue. The shelter does not have a foster program. ‼️The Dogs Need Our Help is a 1 volunteer-run networking page‼️
