@your_favorite_contractor: Here's one of those drywall tips that people claim is not going to work or it's going to make your paint fall off or whatever else. But I've been doing this for about 10 years now and never had a problem. The only thing that happens when I do this is the mud smells really good and it comes out super smooth and easy to work with. So to me it's kind of a no-brainer of why not just do it? So what do you guys think of this trick? You think it works or have you had problems with it? #HomeImprovement #construction #DIY #builder
Dish soap is to help with pinhole air bubbles when you’re coating over painted walls. You don’t need it for new drywall

thats all purpose mud and zero reason to add anything to it much less soap. if you need an additive you simply do not know what you’re doing in the first place

1st, it's already pre mixed mud
2nd, IF you put too much soap the paint will have a hard time sticking to the drywall
3rd, good luck sanding. You have micro soap dust floating into your eyes.

green mud you don't have to worry about picking unless youre finishing in green (which is psychotic) try pro form instead of USG. much better project clean smooth pulls and sets up quickly that you can almost record in half a day
