CRISPY HOT HONEY TOFU 🍯 🥵 Will be making a batch of this every week for the foreseeable future. I’ve tried many a tofu recipe, and this one is WAY up there. Here’s the recipe: 454 g extra firm tofu, cut into 1cm thick rectangle/triangle slices. If your tofu is packed in water, press it for around an hour ✨Cornflake Coating✨ 2 cups cornflakes, blended into a fine crumb 1 tbsp nutritional yeast 1/2 tsp smoked paprika 1/4 tsp chilli powder 1/2 garlic powder 1/2 tsp salt 1/4 tsp black pepper 💧Batter💧 1/3 cup cornstarch 1/4 cup almond/soy/oat milk 1/4 tsp salt 1 tbsp frank’s hot sauce (or any buffalo style hot sauce you like) 1 tbsp oil 🌶 Hot Honey 🍯 1/4 cup honey 1.5 tbsp frank’s hot sauce 1/4 tsp smoked paprika 1/8 tsp chilli powder 1/4 tsp garlic powder Combine cornflake coating ingredients in a shallow bowl and whisk to thoroughly combine. Combine batter ingredients in a separate small bowl and whisk until smooth. With one hand, dip tofu in the the batter and coat all sides, letting the excess drip off. Then place in the crumb coating and sprinkle with coating using your other hand. Coat each side of the tofu, including the edges. Repeat for all tofu pieces and place on a plate to rest. Using one hand for the wet batter and the other for the coating helps prevent the coating from sticking to your fingers. If you are air frying your tofu, place the coated pieces in the basket in one even layer and air fry on 400F for 20 minutes, flipping halfway through. If shallow frying, heat oil in a non-stick pan and fry tofu until golden brown, about 2-4 minutes on each side. Place fried tofu on a paper towel lined plate to drain excess oil. To make the hot honey, simple stir together all of the ingredients. Place tofu in a large bowl and pour the hot honey on top. Shake the bowl back and forth to toss the tofu and evenly coat with the sauce. Serve and enjoy! #tofu #hothoney #plantbased #tofurecipes #crispytofu
