My problem is that I can't date someone I'm not physically attracted to. Most of the time I can feel compatible & safe around someone but if the physical attraction isn't there in the first place, it's rare to increase over time.

I can feel it while we’re still on the dating app. I’m either settling into my chair and leaning into the phone, or I’m setting the phone down and going about my business. If I’m disinterested, he’s not right.

I don’t think this applies to first dates or even second dates. Building rapport generally takes time. It CAN BE worked out with time and effort. Emphasis on the “can be” because I know it’s not always successful.

Here’s the thing, in my natural state I can probably come up with reasons to talk to them or whatever it is, but there’s a part of me that wants to pull away, not purely out of avoidance, but because I feel like I’m not perfectly where I need to be in order to date a little more securely. Things like financial security among a few other more survival base types of security are needed for even slow burn dating to work. But other than these reasons, if I wore in a conversation with them, both of us have managed to stay engaged whenever possible, even if we went to a come to our consensus of some kind we’re both able to lean into the conversation with no problem or hesitance.

100%. The way my body fought against some men was incredible. But I really started to realise when I met my husband. My body is so relaxed and strong when he is around 😅
