Do you have any idea why he isnt as rated as Zidane? When just based purely off what's stated here ,he sounds like a more complete and consistent Zidane. I'd heard of him before and I'm still shocked as to why he seems forgotten when the French GOAT debate flares up. Even in the context of European GOAT, outside CR7, Cruyff is often mentioned but very rarely Platini.Is it recency bias and the lack of World Cup factor.Are Maradona and Pele really that much better than a Cruyff or a Eusebio for example? A similar question regarding Van Basten vis-a-vis Ronaldo Nazario.

My opinion for most players who were GREAT and GOOD for their eras is that they can never be compared with people from another generation, because it in no way makes sense. It’s like asking an average primal human to fight an average human now. Not only is the difference A LOT, they have different mindsets and strength to eachother.
