I had a module at uni that was absolutely fascinating about Medieval Science Fiction, if you haven't you might be interested in the book of the same title written by Carl Kears the professor who taught it

Even going back to Screaming Lord Sutch, I've always said that these 'novelty' candidates would probably do a far better job than a lot of 'sensible' candidates have. I mean, often they could hardly do worse, right? Especially in this instance.
