![An Olympic hurdler eliminated in 5th place won by diving headfirst. Trailing outside the top four qualifying spots at the Rio 2016 Olympics, Brazilian 110m hurdler João Vítor de Oliveira stumbled after the final hurdle and launched himself airborne across the line [00:08], [00:13]. Because World Athletics finish line rules measure the torso rather than the feet, his Superman dive edged out 4th place by 0.01 seconds to advance [00:19], [00:24]. Should diving across the finish line be banned in track and field, or is putting your body on the track fair game when an Olympic spot is on the line? #olympichurdlesdive #trackandfieldtok #110mhurdles](/video/cover/7700416897619135758.webp)
