Our house situation after moving in back in April has been absolutely devastating. If you’ve noticed me posting an abundance of Shoppable TikTok shop videos here’s why 👇🏽 This has been a very hard thing for both me and my husband to share on socials because of our pride in handling any and all struggles ourselves and we always do but this is a BIG struggle & financially impossible. We moved into our forever home in April… up and moved our life from Utah, sacrificed everything to live a life of our dreams on 10 acres in a small town here in Texas only to find the previous owners withheld/ failed to disclose critical information about the house and covered up mold and extensive water damage throughout the house as well as 21 penetrations in the roof. The inspectors that did the inspection clearly did a poor job of doing their job and are not admitting any fault on paper but said otherwise to our face. With it being not sudden or accidental as well and is clear to USAA the previous owners KNEW about these issues and did not disclose them they are unable to file the claim we were hoping for to get these things fixed. We are writing formal complaints and letters to the state of Texas to get this resolved and know this will take a long time and right now we don’t have time as the water damage and mold escalated. We are in a devastating pickle with mold seeping through the ceilings in my kids rooms as well as our own room. My kids are sleeping on the living room couch and we have everything we own still in boxes in the living room. We have a baby on the way and we’re doing everything we can in the meantime to get justice and somehow make ends meet hence me trying to sell products on TikTok to get this fixed so we can make our house our HOME as we intended. We need repairs done asap. Mold is toxic. The amount of hoops we have been jumping through has been outstanding, frustrating and heartbreaking for us as we feel so abandoned by those we trusted to take care of us in the process of buying our home. A dear friend of ours created a Give Send Go account for us which we would have NEVER done ever because we’re stubborn…. and we’re so grateful he did this and know this can help us tremendously and we’re setting aside our pride and accepting any help. After posting the on my IG and in stories here (which I contemplated for hours) we woke up the next day to a group of roofers willing to fix the roof and the interior in the house while we raise the funds to pay for it 😭 I cried all day yesterday out of being beyond grateful and seeing that there are still amazing, generous and kind people in the world even in a small town here in Texas. Praise God and I thank God for anyone here that has already donated, we are eternally grateful and can hardly wait to pay it forward once we get justice for what these sellers and all involved have done to our growing family.
