As someone with OCD, I struggle with this a lot. However, you have to remind yourself that you're a good, or at least a decent, person BECAUSE you hold back. Acknowledging the things your mind comes up with would be bad to say or do and actively chosing not to say or do those things because of that is one of the first steps towards being a good person.
