Takeout-Style Chicken Onion Stir-Fry Ingredients: Chicken breast, thinly sliced 1 onion, sliced into strips Spring onion, cut into sections Ginger slices Minced garlic Oil for cooking A pinch of salt ½ cup water Marinade: 1 tbsp soy sauce 1 tsp dark soy sauce ½ tbsp oyster sauce 1 tbsp cooking wine 1 tsp baking soda 1 tsp sugar 1 tsp chicken powder Black pepper 1 tbsp corn starch ½ tbsp sesame oil Steps: 1 Slice the chicken breast thinly. 2 Add soy sauce, dark soy sauce, oyster sauce, cooking wine, baking soda, sugar, chicken powder, black pepper, corn starch, and sesame oil. Mix well and marinate for 15 minutes. 3 Slice the onion into strips. Cut the spring onion into sections, keeping the white and green parts separate. 4 Heat a little oil in a pan. Add the onion with a pinch of salt and stir-fry for 1 minute. Remove and set aside. 5 Add a little more oil if needed. Add ginger slices, minced garlic, chicken, and the white part of the spring onion. 6 Spread the chicken out and let it sear, then flip and stir-fry until cooked. 7 Add about ½ cup water. The corn starch from the chicken will loosen into the sauce and make it thick and glossy, so you don’t need extra corn starch slurry. 8 Add the green part of the spring onion and the cooked onion back in.
