I am an advisor, and the whole reason GPA is because snything below a 2.0 means you most likely got Cs and Ds consistently. Cs don't get degrees.

you are can ask your professor if you are allowed to reuse an essay/paper you've already written if it's not directly outlined in the syllabus whether you can or cannot. it's not directly against the rules, but you have to have permission to do so. also, if you wrote it in college for another class you need permission from both professors.
