POV You wake up Sunday morning and make fresh biscuits. Whip up some flaky buttery Sourdough Discard Buttermilk Biscuits. They’re the best homemade biscuits I’ve ever tasted, if I do say so myself (even without using sourdough discard). SAVE These easy, homemade biscuits are soft, flaky, made completely from scratch and can be on your table in about 20 minutes! *1 cup @Arrowhead Mills All Purpose Flour *1 cup sourdough starter discard (unfed) *1/2 cup nondairy milk with 1 tbsp apple cider vinegar to create buttermilk *4 tablespoons unsalted butter, cold and cubed *1 tablespoon sugar *1 teaspoon baking powder *1/2 teaspoon baking soda *1/2 teaspoon salt Instructions: *Preheat your oven to 425°F (220°C). *Line a baking sheet with parchment paper. *In a large mixing bowl, combine the flour, sugar, baking powder, baking soda, and salt. *Add the cold butter cubes to the flour mixture. Use a pastry cutter or your fingers to work the butter into the flour until it resembles coarse crumbs. *In a separate bowl, mix the sourdough discard and buttermilk until well combined. *Pour the sourdough discard mixture into the dry ingredients. Stir until just combined, being careful not to over-mix. *Turn the dough out onto a lightly floured surface. Gently pat it into a rectangle about 1/2 inch thick. *Use a biscuit cutter or a glass to cut out biscuits. Place them on the prepared baking sheet, leaving a little space between each biscuit. *Gather any scraps of dough, gently pat them together, and cut out more biscuits until all the dough is used. (Optional freeze the biscuits until ready to bake) *Bake the biscuits in the preheated oven for 12-15 minutes, or until they are golden brown on top. Enjoy! #biscuit #homemade #sourdough #sourdoughdiscard #baking #food #foodie #foodtiktok #foryou #tik #tiktok #breakfast #morning #yummy #delicious #vegan #tiktokfood #healthy #easyrecipe #eating
