@dr.timtcomedy: Hospital rounds are when the medical team goes from patient to patient to review what happened overnight, examine the patient, review labs and imaging, adjust the treatment plan, answer questions, and decide what needs to happen next. Depending on the hospital, rounds may include physicians, residents, medical students, nurses, pharmacists, case managers, therapists, and other members of the care team. Everyone brings a different perspective, and that collaboration helps catch mistakes, improve patient care, and coordinate a safe discharge plan. Rounds are also where a lot of medical education happens. Residents and students present each patient, discuss their clinical reasoning, and receive teaching from attending physicians. It’s one of the most important parts of learning how to practice medicine. So if you see a crowd of people walk into a hospital room, it isn’t because your case is unusual. It’s because medicine is a team sport, and rounds are how we make sure everyone is on the same page. #funny #doctor #residency #creatorsearchinsights #hospital
