@creativeflairhq: There are places all over the world that give you a free studio, free time, sometimes accommodation, and often actually pay you, just to go and make your art. They're called artist residencies, and most artists never apply for one. A residency is dedicated time and space to focus only on your work. And the funded ones are real. The Rijksakademie in Amsterdam and Akademie Schloss Solitude in Germany give artists a studio and a monthly grant. Others cover travel, meals and accommodation. And before you say 'not for me', they come in every shape: a weekend or a few months, local or abroad, some even virtual from home, some made just for parents or for artists right at the start. There's almost certainly one that fits your life. How to find them: search Res Artis, ArtConnect, or Artist Communities. Filter for funded, plus your discipline and dates. Then apply to lots and cast a wide net, international ones get fewer applications, so your odds are often better abroad. I go into this properly in my book VISIBLE, because nobody tells emerging artists these doors are open. But read it or not, hear this: you don't have to fund your practice alone.
