I had this happen to me while catching fast pitch softball,I called for a rise ball pitch didn’t shake it off he just threw a drop the opposite from what I called it hit me in the big toe. I finished catching that inning and told the pitcher and manager I was done catching. Pitcher tried to say sometimes the ball doesn’t do what he wanted I said bullshit it might come in flat but not drop and I was done. Never caught again
