@andyinamerica: One of the biggest culture shocks I’ve had as a Brit in America is the driving test… #britinamerica #america #arkansas #usa🇺🇸 #cultureshock
No parallel parking… huh… it took me two tries because of parallel parking. Now I’m a pro at parallel parking.

Wait you didn't have to parallel park? lol. When you are 16 and get a permit you do have to have 40+ hours of drive time with an adult. You are a certain age so I think thats why its different 🤔

You were already a driver and were just transferring your UK license into a US license. Trust me if you were a new driver it would have been a lot longer and harder. As a 16 year old who was getting my first license I flunked the first time and barely passed the 2nd.

Each state is different and literally each DMV is different when they test you

we let adults be adults. under 18 have learners permits often with months before they can test for the license. while under the permit you need an adult or guardian with your depending on the state. also your experience is for that state...its harder or even easier in others.

have you looked up motorcycle licenses? after you pass the course/test you can go out and buy 1000 cc bike with almost no experience

In high school we take a class called DriversEd. I think it was like 3 or 4 weeks long with an exam at the end. Plus the driving part which is another few hours. That is just for the permit. Then you need 60 recorded hours driving before getting another permit if your under 18. The test you took is assuming you already done training before and are over 18 for a full license. The one you took was easy. It all depends on the instructor.

I took driver’s ed in California. I had to learn to make a 3-point turn, back up in a straight line, and parallel park because any one of those would be on my driving test. I ended up back up in a straight line, but I’m one of my few friends that can parallel park correctly!

Mine was more Intel, but I took mine in Texas. First time I failed it but in my defense, I had 101 fever at the time second time I did fine until they asked me to parallel park and I couldn’t but then they asked me to pull up front and park between two cars and I did it fine then go figure .

The Minnesota one isn't that easy. Parallel parking, 90° backing are both on the test😭

my daughter got her license last year and was so stressed about the test but her instructor told her to go with a specific tester and told her to give his name test was probably 5-10 min just went around the block and done. most of the kids here test in the next town over because the tester just has them go down the street turn around and come back .

The Searcy driving test difficulty depends on the instructor. My sister failed because there was a fly in the car and she swat at it at a stop sign.

It doesn't have to be rocket science. But in Missouri there is a bit more to or than what you had in Arkansas.
