The cured women Al-Basous bint Munqidh Al-Tamimiyyah: A pre-Islamic poet and merchant, whose ill omen was proverbial. She was the aunt of Jassas ibn Murrah Al-Shaibani. She had a camel called Sarab. Kulayb ibn Rabi’ah saw it grazing in his preserve, so he shot an arrow in its udder, which saddened Al-Basous. She composed poetry that provoked Jassas ibn Murrah, who killed Kulayb. Because of her, the war of Bakr and Taghlib, the sons of Wa’il, raged for forty years, so it was said that she was more unlucky than Al-Basous. The “War of Al-Basous” became known by her name. البسوس بنت منقذ التميمية: شاعرة وتاجرة جاهلية يضرب المثل بشؤمها وهي خالة جساس بن مرة الشيبانيّ.كانت لها ناقة يقال لها سراب، رآها (كليب بن ربيعة) ترعى في حماه، فرمى ضرعها بسهم، فحزنت البسوس. وقالت شعرا أثار جساس بن مرة، فقتل كليبا. فهاجت حرب بكر وتغلب ابني وائل بسببها أربعين سنة، فقيل: أشأم من البسوس. وعرفت (حرب البسوس) باسمها.
