When I moved in with my now hubby he had a roommate. His roommate covered groceries while my hubby covered bills (it was his house first so he was used to paying bills already) I immediately asked the roommate if he’d like me to go in half with groceries or cook half the time or whatever since I was now staying there. Only thing he asked was “please keep cleaning. House has never been this clean since you moved in” bet that’s what I did. It’s called being a good person. If you move in with someone you should help contribute to the house however you can

Had roommates at 18. One moved her little sister in and the other moved her boyfriend in. They were there ALL the time, even when we weren’t. Then got mad at me because the landlords found out and wanted to raise the rent. Said they shouldn’t have to pay more when the sister/boyfriend were staying in their rooms (they weren’t lol just sleeping in there) bills were also only split three ways so I was paying for them as well. Anyways they moved out and I haven’t had roommates since and I’m 33

My old flatmate moved his gf in without saying a word and still expected me to pay half of the bills 🙃 even though it was in our tenancy agreement that any guests staying longer than 14 days at a time would be a breach of our contract 😅
