Every exam require thorough preparation and the right attitude. it is clear the student had actually "dropped" English in form 3 and psychologically prepared to fail. it was very common those days for students to just focus on the subjects they wanted to do in A level . I bet the good professor had set his eyes on Maths, Geography and Economics

it's because school English is not just English but about English and how it works. You can write a novel and fail an exam on that novel. there are people in Mombasa who score zero in Kiswahili.😊
