@katiesdiary_: We’re not at the point of needing IVF yet, we haven’t even had our first fertility clinic appointment yet. But after having our initial tests done, the conversation naturally turned to what the next steps could look like. That’s when it really hit me… We don’t qualify for NHS funded IVF, and we don’t have the savings to pay for it privately if we ever got to that stage. I’m trying not to get ahead of myself because we don’t know what the future holds. But the thought that this door might not even be open to us if we need it has been sitting heavily with me. TTC has a way of making you think about things you never imagined you’d have to. One step at a time… but this realisation has definitely been a hard one to process. 🤍
Oh Katie. My heart really aches for you guys. It is so bloody unfair and out of order. How can you monetise your platform here? We’d all support you! D

I am so sorry for everything you’re going through. I’ve been following your journey and I’m so hopeful and excited for the day you post about a healthy pregnancy that you’re having, because it will happen. 💕 I know TTC is so hard every single day in so many ways. Try not to think too far ahead (hard I know). I know you had an ectopic but the good thing is the egg/sperm met and developed well enough to allow implantation (I know it implanted in the wrong place but a lot of things did go right before that). Your body did it before and it will do it again. You’ll be able to tell your child how wanted they were before they even existed. I know it’s so hard but go easy on yourself and treat yourself well, try to not think more than 1 day ahead. Thinking about you and manifesting for you ❤️🩹❤️

It’s so flipping unfair that you won’t qualify because he has another child. 😭 That doesn’t affect your body and it’s so wrong that the system is like this. 🥺

That is all worst case scenario and it’s horrible and scary and also hugely unfair that you even have to take this into consideration but there are a few things they might be able to try at the fertility clinic before you have to even consider that route 💞 I’m all for being proactive and opening the pot but try not to let it consume you 😭❤️

Have a look at Kind Ivf, they have a strict criteria to meet (age, BMI, egg quality) but they do more affordable prices if you meet the criteria x

This is really sad but I totally understand why you feel this way, I thought the exact same, the financial burden is the worst. I know it’s probably worst case scenario but I feel like as women we always think the worst, to protect ourself should it happen. Hopefully this is your month, especially as you’re feeling different to last (just trying to be positive🤞). You’re doing amazing, you might not think it but you really are, infertility is wild and literally consumes every aspect of your life. You’ve got this and I’m keeping everything crossed for you✨♥️

You are entitled to full investigation and other fertility treatments for free on the nhs! Also if you find nhs private clinic it’s much much cheaper. Feel free to message me. We’re in the same situation as you sending love xx

If you have to have IVF I think there are some that offer a payment plan so it’s not one chunk at once so that may be option but hopefully it won’t come to that but we are discussing it with our fertility clinic next month as even on NHS you only get I think 2 transfers then you have to pay. X

I get how you feel too - registered all my losses with my GP last year who didn’t tell me it was my last year to refer/ qualifying for NHS IVF treatment and now I’m 36 it’s deemed too old in Hampshire so I’d have to do privately and its something most people don’t budget for in life 🤍

Very similar situation! Due to my BMI being higher than 30 (working on it, but still got a fair bit to go!) we don’t qualify for NHS treatment. We paid privately for tests to be done, all come back normal. They have recommended IVF but like yourselves, we don’t have 12k lying around, plus, it isn’t guaranteed. We are now trying fertility acupuncture where I have my first one next week. After 2 and a half years, feeling less hopeful if I’m honest, and we have had conversations around what our future would look like if we don’t have children. Sending so much baby dust your way, and thank you for sharing your journey! It’s make me feel less alone 🥰

Do you qualify for any fertility treatments, just not IVF? My partner and I have been doing ovulation induction (letrozole / trigger injections) but I don’t know if that comes under the same umbrella as IVF treatment? X

I’d come across a few places who offered 0% payment plans when I had a little look into it a few months ago. If you need any help looking let me know and I’ll see if I can find what they were xx

We are in the same boat. Try a company called access fertility. They have options to pay monthly and you can pick a package that suits you. It might take the pressure off knowing you have options ❤️❤️sending lots of love x
