I've been dismissed for years and for the last 2 years I've been on the prevention injection and is truly my life line currently.

Fellow Endo girly here. I think it’s really important for people to not blindly trust a Dr that dismisses their pain. Many people say because their gynae said their tests are clear, they are fine. But Endo can’t be picked up on ultrasounds, blood tests or x-rays. It doesn’t make sense to keep going to the same Dr. (So glad you’re considering seeing another). We also have to be so educated on our own before even going into these appointments. Women’s health especially Endo is under studied, underfunded. Best to see an Endo specialist. They won’t dismiss you 🥺 Your story is similar to many ladies with Endo. There is an official list of Endo specialists in SA. All the best!

Hey, Fellow endo girly here and I relate to this so hard 🩷 if you are based in South Africa go see Dr Abrie De Bruin. He specialises in endo. 🩷 endo effects more than just your uterus, Your bladder , bowels and even kidneys. 🩷🫶

If you’re looking at endometriosis treatment in JHB, please go to Parklane hospital and see a gynae there. My gynae referred me to an endometriosis specialist, Dr Bvuma. I had a female gynae after being rushed to Mulbarton hospital with your symptoms , I had a female gynae tell me that a laparoscopic endometriosis excision surgery would be like “jumping the gun” previously, please advocate for your gynaecological health

Don’t go to a normal Gynie, go to a endo specialist girl! Also only thing that helps me is a hot water bottle 🥲

Stage 4 endo girl here. I’d definitely recommend switching doctors and finding a gynae who specialises in endometriosis and excision surgery. I switched doctors too. I was diagnosed via MRI, did 6 months of treatment, and at my 6 month follow up I was told to see a specialist, then saw a specialist and it was a complete game changer for me!
Happy to chat if you have any questions. 🌷

People sleeping on Xefo. Honestly, I've never been a functional human until Xefo entered the chat. I definitely still have pain but I can actually exist now

I finally got answers on Monday from a specialist who specialises in endometriosis. If you’re in Cape Town I would highly recommend seeing him it’s DR Hanekom at Vincent pallotti and then my gynea DR Jason Bennet diagnosed my endo and was amazing I just had to get surgery from a secondary specialist! Highly recommend both of them!

My gynae said “you probably have PCOS but I won’t know cause you’ve been on the pill since 18 and I don’t wanna take the chance of you going off it and we find cysts then” and sent me about my day🤷🏻♀️

This actually makes me so furious! Periods need to be taken seriously, I suffer every month too! Severe cramps & migraines are THE worst and then you have to work still. There should be leave for that!😭 I also HATE my period, I get it just as bad.
