The biggest medical milestone today was another vecuronium wean. Veya is now down to 0.0143. She did end up needing epinephrine again today. It was restarted this morning, and while that was disappointing to see, we know every vecuronium wean asks her body to do a little more on its own. The hope is that if she continues doing well overnight, we'll be able to start weaning the epinephrine back off tomorrow. Even with that, today felt like a really good day. Veya was so incredibly interactive. She was awake, alert, looking around the room, and reminding us once again that underneath all of the medications and machines is a curious little girl who wants to experience the world. One of my favorite additions today was a smart projector we got for her room. Since she spends so much time lying on her back, and will continue spending time strengthening her muscles again after being on vec for 4 months, we can now project baby sensory and stimulation videos onto the ceiling for her to watch and help keep her little brain engaged. Of course... my first attempt didn't exactly go as planned. 😂 I put on an ocean-themed baby stimulation video, and I didn't realize the screen was upside down until I took a video of it and texted it to Colby. His response was basically making fun of me for it. I quickly fixed it so she didn't have to watch upside-down fish for too long. 🐠🩷 Veya's Gofundme is in My Bio❤️
