I dance like no one is watching. I write like no one will read it. I workout as if there will be no “after” picture. I travel like no one will hear my stories. I live my life as if no one will notice my name in a 100 years, because they probably won’t. I have a very intrinsically motivated life and I think that is the bedrock of my sense of fulfillment.

I became a boat captain for season, a lead singer of a band for a year, a bartender for 2 years, became a business development rep for a year, started a podcast with my sister, started a women’s only sing-a-long brunch, now I’m on my next project, just do stuff! It’s fun!

That’s why I published a book, filmed a movie with Eddie Money, shot music videos, at 65, programming for the App Store, was a caver for 20 years, spent 51 years playing drums on stage, owned a restaurant and built and ran a recording studio. Also, wrote and recorded albums. Playing banjo, mandolin, and guitar. Not done yet.
