My husband is in the back half of the academy as we speak. He actually gets OC sprayed today 😅😬 But you’re 1000% correct regarding the mental side of training. Everything is a test, from your actual exams down to ethics. Always be honest, and always help fellow cadets. 💙

I retired from a big city police department 6 years ago after 20 years of service. I can say what you learn in the academy is just to get you through. You have to re learn the real way once you get to your precinct.

Why is the Academy and the test to get into the academy so difficult to do when the physical standards to be a police officer are not upheld through the duration of your career? Wouldn’t it make sense that in order to continue being an officer you need to keep up your physical standards like retesting every six months or so?

I think after doing delivery for Amazon for a while now I can endure the mental side of things fairly easy 🤞 trying to get in is a lot harder than I would’ve expected tbh
