600 is a tiny study. The nhs is essentially conducting its own giant scale trial as it should. Even if it only lowers the incidence slightly then that is very helpful in what is fast becoming the worst of the STIs with fewest treatment options. And if it doesn’t work then they’ve protected a lot of gay men against meningitis which sometimes also spreads in the gay community.
