Sami Zayn had more of an interesting and entertaining title run in 9 days with no successful title defenses than pretty much anybody in that same type of situation. His segments just on an entire episode of Smackdown and his social media shows that it’s more about the character than anything else.

As someone who’s watched wrestling as long as I have and seeing the storylines take place and having them align in certain ways I’d rather watch Sami Zayn get his ultimate redemption in the form of dethroning. Roman reigns because it would be the ultimate payoff because there was no build to punk versus Sami Zayn in the first place.

If Sami could sell SummerSlam as champion better than Punk, he’d still be the champion. Sami, on his own, doesn’t sell tickets. The whole “plucky underdog” story has already been played out.

My problem with is is we’ve gotten so used to people keeping the belt so long the greatest time was the attitude era the belt changed hands if not weekly monthly I think more belt swaps should go down give other people a chance
