It’s ok love, time doesn’t heal all wounds but it does help. I’m right around the one year anniversary of when my dearest friend, someone I considered a sister, chose to downgrade me from best friend to acquaintance. Over the past year I have realized just how abusive, degrading, and manipulative she behaved towards me every day of our friendship. It’s still hard, and I miss her some days when my self esteem is low, but everything happens for a reason

I never take down pictures or throw away memorable objects from old friends. Even if things didn’t end well, the overall happiness and girlhood I experienced with them will always always overshadow the friendship breakup. Those friendships helped me become the woman I am today. Even if it hurts to see those pictures, the gratitude overflows.
