Lowkey it’s zangetsu’s fault cause if im remembering right the Zanpakuto supposed to teach them moves and the names that go with it . I think Getsuga Tenshou fits White’s chaotic nature so all he showed him was an attack that basically is f tht particular direction.

He unlocked bankai and it didnt do anything but let him combine getsuga tenshou and be faster and stronger while every other shinigami has some complex bankai ability

He never really had too much time to really learn kido, cause he always had to fight or learn something more immediate, until after the fullbring arc right before tybw but even that might have not been too long of a time gap. Although getsuga is his main attack technique it’s not like he doesn’t have other techniques. Also kido is something that requires focus and a chant to use unless well versed with it, Ichigo needed a more immediate result due to the events taking place so it didn’t give him time to master them. It would take much longer for him to say a spell for a mid level kido than to use a full power getsuga tensho. For a character that wants to act as fast as possible to protect the ones he cares about, standing back and reciting a spell isn’t going to be as quick as him getting there himself and using his best technique.
