@cassandra.breuer: I don’t know what to do 😣 🙈 has anyone else gone through this? A few weeks ago something started growing in Eliyana’s ear. She started to get irritable and was constantly scratching at it so I rushed to take her to our family doctor who gave us a referral to an ENT. We got scheduled 5 weeks later for an ‘emergency’ appointment. Keep in mind that she’s 6 months old and this thing is growing!? Obviously, we were not satisfied with that so we went to the emergency room who gave us another referral. A few days later they gave me an appointment for three weeks later. I called every day, hoping for a cancellation, and managed to get an appointment 10 days later with the pediatric ENT. She told me that luckily it’s not in the eardrum, but she is not sure what it is and it needs to be investigated further and so she so will refer me to another ENT at sick kids. She also mentioned that she doesn’t want to expose my baby to unnecessary radiation by giving her a scan and in any case she cannot operate on a baby under the age of 18 months. Why was I sent to her in the first place if she can’t operate on a baby under the age of six months? Now I just have to wait for a phone call, hoping to see an ENT that can actually help her while I watch her be uncomfortable, scratch at her ear and unsure if it’s something serious or not. I know that the system is considered ‘free’ but this doesn’t feel free at all when I have no freedom to choose what doctor I want to see and I literally cannot even pay someone unless I go to the United States or another country… Has anyone else experienced something like this? #baby #6months #momtok #motherhood
