i saw a tiktok of someone’s like. weird eel worms they had in their plant they were feeding and the top comment was something along the lines of “i love that people just be having anything as a pet nowadays” and while this is not a very new pet i still think it’s really awesome that creatures like this are thoroughly loved and enjoyed by people, you are truly unique and the world is your oyster. that is to say, as long as you take care of it with the care you do these cute little babies

this kinda reminds me of my zombie magical girl oc who has a pet tapeworm as her familiar/animal companion i did pick it because of its grosser connotations, but i also picked it bc i thought it would be cool to try and convince myself to find SOME appreciation for a creature which seemingly only exists to hurt others however, upon researching some stuff abt tapeworms, i do think theyre pretty neat! not that i would ever want one obv, but they are so much more interesting than i gave em credit for initially it makes me happy to see others show similar kinds of love for similarly maligned animals :) i hope you and your leeches fare very well 🫶🫶
