So I’m an only child, but my parents only ever got me older phones that were literally on their last limb and call me “spoiled”. First brand new phone was at 16 and that’s only because my birthday is right around THE BACK TO SCHOOL SALE. I was told if I wanted any new devices I’d have to buy them myself, same if something happens to my car if I need repairs or to even buy a new one. My car was made in 09 just as a side note, and I already pay my parents rent. Mind you I’m 21.

I had to wait until 17 to have a switch because my mom said "video games can mess up your mind" but my mom bought Pikmin 4 for his Elementary graduation to play it on my switch (She did ask if he could play on my switch and I saw sure but like I could had a switch sooner)

no devices until at 12 i was given a kids flip phone that could only call/text, at 14 I was given an already outdated secondhand Samsung tablet that I could have games and social media on but only at home bc it used wifi and I had to buy my own laptop for school when I turned 16 and had saved up enough from my job. my brother at 6 got given a new smartphone, a new tablet, his own computer and 2 google homes, one for next to his computer and one for in his bedroom. we have a sister in between us and she was bought a new phone at 16 but otherwise got all my hand-me-downs... littlest sibling privilege, last child privilege or boy privilege you decide lol

I literally told my mum if she’s going to get me an iPhone she cannot get my brother an iPhone at least a year or two later and it cannot be the same iPhone. If I’m iPhone 15 his is iPhone 12 we cannot be in the same range.
