@weirdtruecrime: Melissa Casias was known for her love of plants, and for a soil substitute called Leca that she used to help them thrive in New Mexico’s dry climate. She kept it in clear vases throughout her home, including her bedroom, where investigators later found blood near a dresser of disturbed plants. Eleven months after Melissa disappeared from Ranchos de Taos, New Mexico, a single piece of that same substrate was recovered with her remains on the ridge where she was found.
