So it will fit inside the windows well. If the store cuts it, they will do the same thing. The frame of the window covers the 1/4 inch at both sides so you don't even notice. I get ya...but its ok.

It has to be smaller if you mount it inside the window instead of mounting it outside the window. The brackets are set up for either. All blinds are that way.
