@immigrationlawyermoumita: What happened to you may have a name, and it may change everything. So many people carry these experiences in silence without ever knowing there may be a legal path forward because of them. A T visa can open the door to residency and citizenship, and most people who qualify never find out. Call my office and let's talk about what may be possible for you. #tvisa #immigrationlawyer #immigrationhelp
I had a client who worked for relatives for years without being paid. They also hid her passport. 😓

kupataaaay :
I recently had my VAWA-based I-485 interview.
At the beginning of the interview, the officer asked who I attended my tourist visa interview with.
I answered truthfully that, at that time, I was married to my first husband, and we attended the visa interview together.
The officer then asked whether my first husband had also received a visa. I answered, “Yes.” I did not try to hide that we attended the visa interview together or that he also received a tourist visa.
Later, the officer told me that my first ex-husband entered the United States on the same day and the same route as I did. I explained that I did not know we had entered on the same day and the same route.
As far as I know, my first ex-husband never filed any immigration case or petition in the United States. He never married anyone in the U.S. and eventually returned to our home country.
The officer did not give me any paperwork, notices, or requests during the interview. The only documents he kept were my Form 100 and my neurologist’s medical report. He also asked me about my tax returns, but he did not ask me to submit any additional tax documents.
I am very anxious and worried because I don’t know how significant this issue could be for my I-485 decision.
My VAWA I-360 has already been approved. If this had truly been considered a serious issue, wouldn’t it likely have affected my I-360 adjudication as well? Or is it normal for questions like this to come up only during the I-485 interview?
Does the fact that I openly disclosed that we attended the visa interview together and that he also received a visa generally support my credibility from a USCIS perspective?
If anyone has had a similar experience or has knowledge of how USCIS evaluates situations like this, I would really appreciate your thoughts. Thank you.
