@4complexion: Replying to @Cat_.•.•. When I say otc Azelaic acid works, I mean it works as a gentler, more tolerable option. I am not comparing it to prescription #azelaicacid #cosmeticchemist #koreanskincare #skincaretips
It’s funny how the internet is now waking up to the difference between a cosmetic azelaic acid and prescription azelaic acid while you have been talking about that since day one, even before the anua product came out! By the way, i received the skin1004 one today and I’m starting eat soon - just letting my skin recover from the post-holiday stress! Hehe

My compounded prescription azelaic acid is very cosmetically elegant! Not sure how they do it but apparently it's possible

Okay but products like finacea in australia is cosmetically elegant, is otc and you have to get it from a pharmacy (it is 15%) ... we just don't require prescription for it here. You can also buy a non cosmetically elegant one (azclear) off the shelf which is 20% and stings and pills on the skin.

So there is a prescription Azelaic that is more elegant, its called Finacea gel. But Insurance doesnt tend to cover it, so you get the thick cream. 😳

What Korean retinol would you recommend for me? I’m oily and very sensitive. The only exfoliant I use is an LHA peeling gel from Anua. While it does its job, I think I could move up.

Is that true for Regimen Labs Advanced Azelaic formulation which is solubilized (vs 15% prescription )? Or an open question still?

I really hope this doesn't turn into the Urea is from urine situation 🙄🙄🙄🙄 the Rx and OTC versions of AzA are like siblings. No 2 are exactly alike even if they have some of the same attributes. Pls lmk if I'm incorrect somewhere! Also, THAT GLOW ✨️🤩✨️🤩✨️✨️✨️✨️

How do you feel about a compounded formula with both tret/azelaic together? Is it worth it to save a step or two?

yes exactly because I got prescription 12% azelaic acid and I use it consistently and even though I don't put it around my perioral area I get irritation and redness from it ❤️❤️❤️

I’ve heard that tranexamic acid isn't good for skin brightening because it has difficulty penetrating the skin—is that true?
