Of course they don’t care about the future. They won’t be in it! I have noticed there are overwhelmingly two groups of pro AI people: the rich and powerful tech overlords and the downtrodden who feel they have never had a leg up. This technology has been historically written about, filmed, sung, prophesied in every possible way - it will bring some sort of destruction. The people who own these AI groups, are the same people who fund the governments and the laws that we disagree with. They send our sons and daughters to war without so much as a blink of an eye, they do not care about you or tomorrow or what hardship it might bring. They have unlimited resources to market these tools, already implemented in schools, hospitals and grocery stores. They are profiting on selling us inconveniences that are dressed up as convenient. The downtrodden want to be rich. They want to survive. They are sick of struggling and barely getting by, they look to these people in charge and feel hope “maybe I can be there one day”. So they sacrifice their morals, something we all say we will never do. But when in deep distress, animals turn to all sorts of answers. They know this. They know we will submit, that we can only starve so long, and that it’s better for us to be at war with one another than at war with them. Because they are going ahead with their plans regardless of our bickering wails. The people want their businesses to run smoother, faster, they want cheaper labor, they want increased prices, and for us to be satisfied right here, glued to this little device. AI is speed running the separation of humanity, it’s in every art form - something so crucial to the human spirit. And the defenders will say “but now I can draw!” You’ve always been able to do art, maybe poorly, but at least when it’s imperfect it’s you! Now we spend our days convincing others we are human, and why we make mistakes. But we look to ai making problems and we say “haha well it’s just a computer”. We offer more grace to machines than to our fellow person and that’s dismal. There is hope. You don’t have to buy in. You never have to buy in. Don’t buy in. #mrskelly #animation #hope
