Gen Zer here. At one point I was working a full time job as a Medical Assistant at an OBGYN office m-f 7a-5p then from 530-1030 I would work at a grocery store deli clerk AND make DoorDash deliveries just to make rent , cover bills, etc when I lived alone. luckily now, I work a single job in healthcare & I go to school for neuroscience full time. Working as much as I was to have nothing to show for it was hands down the darkest time of my life and my mental health was at its lowest . My fiance (gen zer) immigrated to the USA alone, is self taught English speaker, supported himself financially through college and now he’s a full time nurse & just applied to NP school (which his hospital will help pay for) Gen Z isn’t lazy. Gen Z is just tired that they work hard and have nothing to show for it.

i make $9 hourly for an IT job where i have to travel and my gas isnt covered by the company. i worked 50 hours last week.

I’m 24 going on 25 I work in healthcare and I be living paycheck and paycheck. Like I work 40+ hours a week plus that and bring home 1,300 damn near unless I pick up overtime which I do just so I can make a paycheck that comes close to 1,500 and it’s not even that… 😮‍💨
