A lot of cats like being vigorously scratched/ patted in that area. There is a nerve there. I was worried when my daughter was doing this to her cat, but she goes NUTS for it.

Mine had a bug out button on the butt too I’m not sure what it was connected to but it made everything go all wonky like that and I usually got tiny nibbled 😂

hyper sensitive area. over scratching it can be an overstimulating and hurtful to them. usually brought on by dry skin, parasites, or heightened nerve endings. this action is involuntary when I scratch them. hope this helps. I have 2 cats that do this.
